Mrs SALLY QUINNELL (Camden)—I acknowledge the remarkable service of Station Officer Stephen Leshone, a resident of Gledswood Hills, who has served New South Wales as a firefighter with Fire and Rescue NSW for over 35 years, from February 24th, 1989, finishing on July 11 this year. Station Officer Leshone' s dedication began with his training at the State Training College in 1989. Throughout his career, he has been located at Fairfield, City of Sydney, Chester Hill, Macquarie Fields, Cabramatta, Liverpool, Schofields, and Narellan. Station Officer Leshone' s commitment has gone beyond firefighting. He was an accomplished General Land Rescue qualified firefighter ensuring the public were attended to at their worst hour. He consistently demonstrated leadership qualities, earning the respect of his peers. His dedication is reflected in the numerous awards he received, including the Long Service and Good Conduct Medal with 2 clasps, the National Medal with 1 clasp, The National Emergency Medal – 2019/20 Bushfires, a Commendation for Meritorious Service, a Commissioner's Letter of Appreciation, and the Premiers Bushfire Citation. Stephen's, leadership, courage, and unwavering commitment have made a significant contribution to the safety and security of our communities. We wish him all the best in his well-deserved retirement.
