Mrs SALLY QUINNELL (Camden) (18:23): Sometimes we all feel the need to escape our troubles. Last weekend the communities of Camden and Campbelltown had the opportunity to do just that by attending the musical The Wizard of Oz performed by students of St Patrick's and St Gregory's colleges. The three performances, held over Friday 16 and Saturday 17 June, were outstanding. Students and teachers managed to create, in just three months, a magical and entertaining journey through Kansas and Oz, with a live orchestra of local musicians and a real Toto. Highlights included the hilarious Scarecrow and Lion played by Cody and Angus; the scary Witch of the West played by the talented CAPA captain, Monique, who was cleverly and somewhat aptly helped by the winged monkeys; and the talented Tin Girl, Ebony, who sang and tap-danced her way into our hearts in order to get her own. But the star of the show—if only in my eyes—was the amazing Grace, who stayed on stage for nearly the entire show and carried off a stunning rendition of Somewhere Over the Rainbow. She made her mum proud. I congratulate the kids.
