Mrs SALLY QUINNELL (Camden)—Last Saturday the 11th of May, I was privileged to attend Fire & Rescue NSW's annual open day. This year firefighters have encouraged the community to consider the fire dangers present in their homes, raising awareness about the dangers of heaters, electric blankets, and other appliances as we head into winter. The key focus was on working smoke alarms and lithium-ion batteries. In attending Camden and Narellan fire stations I was able to see firsthand the equipment firefighters use to be able to carry out their work effectively, including fire hoses, aerial ladders and of course the fire truck itself. It was also insightful to have a chat to the crews who work tirelessly to protect our community.
