Camden RSL Sub-Branch Anzac Day Ceremony

11 May 2023

Mrs SALLY QUINNELL (Camden) (15:37): There is no better place for an Anzac Day celebration than the Camden Bicentennial Equestrian Park. On 25 April this year I had the privilege of attending the Camden RSL Sub-Branch Anzac Day ceremony—the largest ever in its history. On a cold morning more than 20,000 people from across Camden and the south-west came to commemorate those who served, those who continue to serve and those who made the ultimate sacrifice. Some of those who served were able to be with us; some of them unfortunately were not. The important work that organisations like the Camden RSL Sub-Branch do every day ensures our veterans are well supported at the times they need it most. Without the Camden RSL Sub‑Branch, events like our Anzac Day parade simply would not happen, leaving a tremendous gap between veterans and the wider community. It is therefore with the greatest pleasure that I commend the incredible work of the Camden RSL Sub-Branch and its president, Mr Iain Richard-Evan, for their dedication to the veterans and the wider community in both the Camden electorate and the wider region.
