That this House:
(1) Recognises the significant threat that Camden faces due to potential flooding.
(2) Notes that emergency services were severely neglected under the former Government, leaving communities like Camden at risk.
(3) Acknowledges that there are no easy solutions in solving the risk of flooding in Camden.
(4) Calls for more work to be done to mitigate the risks of catastrophic flooding in Camden.
My team and I acknowledge the Traditional Custodians of the lands of which the Camden Electorate is located upon – the Dharawal, Dharug and Gundungurra people.
We acknowledge the land’s elders both past and present and extend that respect to their culture and identity which has been tied to the land and waters of this region for over 60 000 years.
We pay our respects to all Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people and commit to working with the government to establish a First Nations Treaty between the people of NSW, and our First Nations peoples.
