COST OF LIVING IN CAMDEN

That this House:

(1) Notes that as the cost of living crisis drives the price of essentials up, the most vulnerable people in New South Wales are doing it especially tough.

(2) Notes that women and children facing domestic and family violence are encountering even more barriers to escaping dangerous situations because the previous Government did not take the cost of living crisis seriously.

(3) Commends the Government for its commitment to provide women and children facing domestic violence in Camden the support they need.

My team and I acknowledge the Traditional Custodians of the lands of which the Camden Electorate is located upon – the Dharawal, Dharug and Gundungurra people.

We acknowledge the land’s elders both past and present and extend that respect to their culture and identity which has been tied to the land and waters of this region for over 60 000 years.

We pay our respects to all Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people and commit to working with the government to establish a First Nations Treaty between the people of NSW, and our First Nations peoples.
