That this House:
(1) Condemns the previous Government's obsession with privatisation that made Sydney the most tolled city in the world.
(2) Notes that western Sydney motorists will be paying at least 120 billion on tolls. The total toll paid to 2060 would be enough to build 94 hospitals and 1,537 high schools in New South Wales.
(3) Commends the Government's plan to introduce a $60 weekly toll cap that will ease cost of living pressures for 4,893 commuters in the Camden electorate.
My team and I acknowledge the Traditional Custodians of the lands of which the Camden Electorate is located upon – the Dharawal, Dharug and Gundungurra people.
We acknowledge the land’s elders both past and present and extend that respect to their culture and identity which has been tied to the land and waters of this region for over 60 000 years.
We pay our respects to all Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people and commit to working with the government to establish a First Nations Treaty between the people of NSW, and our First Nations peoples.
